Treatment Foster Care
Designed for male/female clients ages 0-18. Treatment Foster Care is the least restrictive treatment environment possible. Licensed Teaching Home Parents who have clinical support from EYFS professional staff offer youth the safety, security, and nurturing of a home like atmosphere while teaching youth how to function effectively in a family setting. They teach self esteem, loyalty, good peer relationships, independent living skills and future parenting skills. Our clinical staff offers treatment planning, individual, group and family counseling to the youth as well as support and 24 hour crisis intervention for youth and treatment parents.
Level II Residential Program
Designed for male clients ages 8-18. This program provides structured, behavioral treatment in an unlocked setting with 24-hour supervision. Our clinical staff oversees each youth’s treatment and offers individual, family and group counseling. Youth advance through our unique level system as they progress in treatment. We offer high ropes course adventures that teach teamwork, problem solving, self-awareness as well as increasing confidence and self-esteem.
Independent Living Services
Designed for male/female clients ages 18+. EYFS will provide financial, housing, counseling, employment, education and other appropriate support services as needed to independent living clients. We will provide personal and emotional support to the clients. We will endeavor to compliment the client’s own efforts to achieve self-sufficiency and to assure that program participants recognize and accept personal responsibility for preparation and transition from adolescence to adulthood.
Experiential Learning
Eagledancer operates a licensed ropes course located in the scenic White Mountains. The ropes course has both high and low events. Clients can experience the excitement and adventure of a ropes course while learning essential life skills, through practical application in a safe, controlled environment
Utilizing the events, we teach teamwork, problem solving, trust, communication, leadership skills, anger management, relationship skills, appropriate boundaries, persistence, individual strengths, overcoming individual weaknesses, independence, self discipline, patience, discernment and self esteem.
We have found that a “hands on” experience is the most effective way to learn much needed life skills. Clients begin to realize their full potential. The ropes course events are a very effective tool for therapists, that often bring issues to the surface, opening the way to effectively deal with and process them.
This course will automatically be utilized for clients in our Level II Residential Program. Eagledancer will also contract to work with individual groups on a per-day per-client basis.
We have found that activities which include working with animals will often help youth who have been victims of abuse or neglect, start to rebuild healthy relationships. They often feel safe when learning to trust, love and care for an animal in preparation to building back trust and caring for another human being.
